Heres Some

Snaps from the Open finally! Theres only a couple, but keep checking the site because a few goodies may just show up at a later date. Everyone hated the berm that two of these were shot at, but it gave nice roost and the light was good so I shot it anyways… Both of the McCauls were racing last weekend and Cam takes home the overall style award for sure. Check out how nasty he was getting in that berm! I also hadn’t seen Amado in like a year but he’s been shredding lately too… looking quick and representing the Allride crew in pro finals, just what I like to see! The announcer was butchering names all weekend and Amado definitely got it bad… apparently Stachenfeld is pronounced Strangefield, I’m still not quite sure where that r and g came from but what can you do? And then T-Mac cruised by and did a one footer. Pretty sweet.

SCHOOL IS

DONE! My portfolio was accepted today which means I am officially done with school! I’m psyched and you should be too, because you might just see some US open photos soon! looks like its gonna be a fun time. I’m heading down to the Jersey on Thursday with Smutok to do some shooting and just to have a grand old time. So check back soon for updates!

Who’s the Boss?

Smutok’s the (trail) boss. Yesterday I went up to Highland Mountain, NH to do some shooting with Dave Smutok. They have a really sick trail network going on up there and the jump park and slopestyle course that Dave built are rad as well. You should go there. And you should bring a bug-net-shirt-thing like the rest of the trail crew was wearing. I’m seriously covered in bites from fly-land mountain (Dave came up with that). Seriously, ask Dave about it… more little gnats or whatever they are than I’ve probably ever seen. Don’t worry though they’ll all be dead soon and the world will be a better place. Meanwhile, I’m gonna try to ignore how itchy I am because it was all worth it.

Spring Showers

Are nice. And since I love clouds they make me want to go shoot outside. Yesterday I did a shot with Lindsey, a friend of my friend Shannon. She is an amazing model as you can see from our photo below. I absolutely love using strobes out on location and I’m psyched on this image. I’ve also included a shot of the setup for those of you who are interested in that sort of thing. All in all it was a good shooting day as we had good models, and Max Miller, Shannon, and myself all came away with good stuff!

After shooting we went to Antonio’s pizza in Amherst, which for all you Californians is like Pizza my Heart, where they serve you up slices in all kinds of crazy flavors. The only difference is that Antonio’s has like a million more varieties, like the spicy chicken quesadilla which has a ton of good stuff on it (including chips… who would’ve thought?) and is much better than any of the mexican food I’ve been able to find on the east coast haha.

Southwick

is the best track to play in MX Unleashed, and even though the real version and the video game version are completely different, I’m still pretty sure that it is one of the sickest MX tracks around. Today I went out there for the NESC series to take some pictures. It was nice out until the rain started but it was super fun regardless. Here’s a couple photos of some corners getting destroyed, which is always one of my favorite things to see. I’m loving getting to be outside so much these days springtime rules.

Subways

are kinda hard to photograph on… in case you were wondering. These are from Boston yesterday which was a super fun day of running around shooting with Dan and Taylor. While we were shooting in the middle of the street downtown Dan pointed out that there’s always people doing weird stuff in the city which is probably why I only got honked at once and only got yelled at once. Actually I got yelled at twice but the other time it was by a tweaker who really didn’t like my backpack. I don’t know whether it offended him or he was scared of it but he did feel the need to yell bad words at me haha. Fun times. Hope you like the pics, because we all liked shooting them!
